I would like to thank Walter of Idanha Oregon for allowing us to publish the following question he sent us. Is it healthy to eat cold chocolate sauce? I assume this question pertains to eating cold chocolate sauce straight out of the jar or bottle. Eating it in large quantities would be bad for you. Chocolate sauce regardless of whether or not it's hot or cold, contains saturated fat and large amounts of sugar. Eating massive portions of it regularly could contribute to obesity, heart disease, diabetes, or a variety of other health issues. If eaten in moderation along with a regularly balanced diet, then it wouldn't be particularly unhealthy. Unfortunately a lot of people these days will try and pinpoint one positive health benefit of an dessert food, and then use that as an excuse to overeat.
